Who is Jay Harrington in Swat?
American actor James H. Harrington III, better known by his stage name Jay Harrington, was born on November 15, 1971. He gained notoriety in 2009–2010 for playing the lead character in the ABC sitcom Better Off Ted, and in 2017 he joined S.W.A.T. as Sgt. David “Deacon” Kay.
Harrington has acted in feature films such as Whatever It Takes, American Reunion, High Low Forty, and Anywhere But Here, in addition to television.
The actor Jay Harrington, whose credits include Code Black and Better Off Ted, will portray David “Deacon” Kay. Deacon is a capable and level-headed veteran SWAT officer who is prepared for a leadership position.
What seems like an obvious promotion is taken away from him when Hondo is elevated for seemingly political reasons. But when he’s offered his squad, he’s torn between a potential upgrade and his loyalty to his team.
Aaron Rahsaan Thomas wrote the pilot and will executive produce it along with Shawn Ryan, Justin Lin, Marney Hochman, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, and Danielle Woodrow.
The drama is a co-production between Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Studios. Harrington will be joining a cast that includes Stephanie Sigman, Shemar Moore, Lina Esco, and Kenny Johnson for the pilot.
Is Jay Harrington leaving Swat?
No, Jay Harrington is not leaving Swat. Shemar Moore and Jay Harrington, two of the many actors who have played key roles in the series since its premiere, will serve as the show’s leaders for season seven of S.W.A.T. However, some major faces won’t be returning for the final installment.
Although S.W.A.T. will return for a seventh and final season, a number of the main cast members—whom viewers have come to love since Season 1—will not be returning for all of the upcoming episodes and will instead be departing the show early.
