We don’t mind referring to Josh Owens as an artist because he is one of the best elements of the amazing reality series Moonshiners on Discovery Channel. This man took a beverage that wasn’t quite legal and made it much better. We’d be willing to break the law to try his coffee moonshine recipe.
Josh occasionally competes in motocross racing, having raced professionally in the past. Regretfully, he sustained some rather terrible injuries in March 2023 while racing.
What happened to Josh on Moonshiners?
Josh suffered a terrible motorcycle accident in March 2023. He shared a photo of himself at Florida’s Daytona International Speedway, the Sons of Speed antique board track, on Instagram on March 3.
The races started at noon, with practices starting at eight in the morning. Sadly, Josh’s family didn’t post again until March 7, which was four days later. “Just wanted to make a quick post for all the supporters of Josh – we are focused on his healing right now but your love and concern have not gone unnoticed and once Josh has had time to recover we are sure he will reach out.”
After almost three weeks, Josh provided additional details in a video that he uploaded to Instagram on March 27. Speaking while filming from a hospital bed, he remarked, “Everyone’s wondering what the hell happened to me.”
Josh appears unwell, even though there’s a glimmer of a bandage on his right hand and he’s still lucid.
“I got broken all to pieces in a bad motorbike wreck,” he says. “My neck was broken. My back was broken. My two legs. I want everyone to know that even though I broke my arm, I’m still here and stronger than a pine knot. And I will remain here till God calls me home.” He thanks everyone for their support as he wraps up the video.
Friends showered his remarks with well-wishes and supporters who wish him a quick recovery and are happy he is still alive.
Has Josh Owens been caught in a motorcycle accident before?
Josh Owens has experienced several bike accidents before. Josh was “hospitalized” at Halifax Health Medical Centre for injuries from a motorbike accident during Bike Week,” according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal, but he was released because he lacked insurance in March 2018.
However, this confounded the officials in charge of health in Halifax. They informed the source that “a patient’s ability to pay is never a factor in the health care services they provide or discharge decisions,” but they were unable to comment specifically on Josh’s situation owing to patient confidentiality.
The incident happened at New Smyrna Speedway on March 16 while the reality TV personality was getting ready for a display race. “Owens was doing practice laps at the track on a 1919 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when his front tire exploded, he said, and his body ‘pile-drived’ the pavement,” according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal.
Afterward, Josh “broke all but one of his ribs, punctured a lung, broke his collarbone and shoulder blade, and stripped the skin off one of his pointer fingers down to the bone.” Josh should be able to bounce back from his most recent injuries.
