Why did Spencer and Toby break up?

In season 6, when Spencer returns to Rosewood, she and Toby resume their relationship. The mid-season finale features Spencer as a Georgetown University student. She has a pregnancy scare, and she and Toby realize they want different things in their lives, leading to their breakup.

When Spencer’s doll begs her to “keep Toby safe,” she understands that the only way to do so is to avoid him. She reluctantly breaks up with him by making him think she doesn’t trust him. She tells him that she lied to him earlier about her dad and Jason.

Do Spencer and Toby ever get back together?

In the UnmAsked season 2 finale, they reconciled as Toby, who had been working behind the scenes to bring down “A,” realized that Spencer had not cheated on him.

Even though they both moved on and started dating other people during this period, they eventually came back to one another. Almost everything Toby did in the series was for Spencer. The only other couple who joined the A-Team together was them.
